I would like to start off by saying that I could not have asked for a better internship experience. My experience at RHR was outstanding. I know that not every student is fortunate enough to obtain an internship that provides as much hands-on experience as RHR, but I wish that every student could. I was not too familiar with hippotherapy prior to my time at RHR. I was amazed to see how much it helped each child from body awareness, muscle strength, oral motor function, to even the child’s self-confidence, it was truly amazing!
Since the end of my internship in December 2016, I have already gone back to volunteer a few times. I was also able to bring a few friends along to volunteer and share in my experience. As I enter the “real world”, having this internship experience was good for me to start out as a professional. I am truly thankful I got to work with the RHR staff; they are truly passionate about the work they do. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. I look forward to coming back as a volunteer whenever I have a chance, especially to see my buddy Small Fry!
